Recruitment Tips…

The economy is doing better…. That’s a good thing…. Right? It is, unless you’re a recruiter. Because in good economic conditions, there are real challenges to attracting talent. Some new businesses have had to delay opening due to their inability to find enough employees to open on time. Gone are the days of placing an ad and getting hundreds of candidates to choose from. If you already have a solid group of well qualified, diverse employees and just need a few more, try this tip:

Hold a recruitment contest at your business. Your employees know what a good quality candidate is. They know great things about the business like culture, benefits, job security and work life. They can be your best source for new employees. But this takes effort so there needs to be an enticing reward.

Who doesn’t want to win a trip for two to Disney? The cost of putting a contest like this together is less than $3000 (which can be far less than posting to the numerous job boards out there) but the rewards are fantastic. Employees are excited. There is a real chance they get to win. They get to tell their friends, family and acquaintances about the company and you can get more high quality candidates through the door. This amounts to free advertising, engaged employees and new employees to boot. It’s a win-win for everyone!!!
